Growing your choir in 2020 boils down to more than just thinking, hoping, and dare I say it… praying.
Now before you get angry at me, I believe that praying for your ministry (and your choir) is a one-hundred percent necessary.
It’s scriptural. If Jesus prays for us, then we need to pray for one another!
But ministry is tough work that requires preparation, planning, and hard work.
And God honors this hard work, especially if our hearts are in tune to sing his praise and honor him!
In Luke 14:28, Jesus says,
“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?”
Likewise, growing your choir takes planning and preparation.
(You can continue reading this post to hear what I have to say about planning and preparing, but if you prefer, you can watch the following video instead.)
(LAUNCHING IN JUST A FEW DAYS – Grow Your Choir Today! is a four-week online course specifically designed to help you grow your choir in 2020.)
Planning is crucial to ministry success.
Think about the Advent and Christmas services and/or worship concerts you just experienced.
How would those events have gone without planning and preparation.
But you planned! You prepared!
And I’m sure things went well. I’m sure folks were brought closer to the Lord through your hard work and dedication.
So, if we plan and prepare for worship services, why aren’t we also planning and preparing for our choir to grow in 2020?
Now, you might be saying to yourself, “Chris, you’re talking about two totally different things here.”
Well, maybe so.
But I firmly believe that growing a vibrant and worshipful music ministry AND growing your choir, which is a part of this, takes focussed planning and preparation.
And here’s the thing, if you don’t feel like you’re able to plan and prepare for the growth of your choir, then perhaps you lack something crucial to the process.
Perhaps you lack vision.
Now, you know what scripture says about this, right?
Proverbs 29:18 declares,
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
(FYI, if you need encouragement and inspiration in the visioning process for your choir in 2020, then make sure to join us in GROW YOUR CHOIR TODAY, the four-week LIVE online course dedication to helping you grow your choir in 2020.)
You must possess a vision for your ministry and choir.
You must visualize the new members joining.
And then you plan and prepare.
And that leads you to the final step…
(cliffhanger – I’ll share this with you on Monday).
Be encouraged my friend. You can and WILL grow your choir in 2020 😉
